The pedodontist-orthodontist relationship – a necessity of collaboration in the prevention of anomalies that may settle and worsen in the evolutionary stages of dento-maxillary development
This presentation explores the importance of collaboration between pedodontist and orthodontist in the prevention of anomalies that can occur and worsen in the evolutionary stages of dento-maxillary development.
Pedodontist are trained to detect a range of dento-facial anomalies in children( delayed tooth eruption, abnormal tooth size or shape, crowding, malocclusion, jaw growth problems, speech problems, breathing problems etc.).
We will look at the benefits of early detection and prevention, not only in terms of dental health but also in terms of overall health and well-being.
Additionally, we will highlight the challenges and potential solutions for effective collaboration, including communication, treatment planning and referral processes.
