The use of Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) is acknowledged today as an effective, minimally invasive, evidenced based treatment strategy in pediatric dental practice.
It is however akin to a flawed gem! Many clinicians are reluctant to use SDF in practice despite its excellent ability to arrest lesions. After all, to justify discolouring a tooth is challenging!
The speaker will discuss the contemporary evidence-based use of SDF in various clinical situations. Further, strategies that clinicians can use to strike a balance between the advantages of silver diamine fluoride and its solitary disadvantage, in various clinical situations, will be discussed.
