Minimal peroral sedation in dental office in the presence of pediatric dentist
Uncooperative patient in pediatric dental office represent a treatment challenge for pediatric dentist. Using minimal peroral sedation (or anxiolysis) during dental visit enables access to dental care, and reduction of long waiting list for dental treatment under general anesthesia.
Furthemore, this treatment option improves achieving therapeutic alliance and mutual trust between pediatric dentist and patient.
The lecture will coer step by step guide to internal protocol for minimal peroral sedation at the Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry School of Dental medicine University of Belgrade since 2014.
This treatment protocol was designed in cooperation with the Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimation, University Children’s Clinic and Mother and Child Health Care Institute of Serbia “Dr. Vukan Čupić”.
The treatment protocol is in accordance with IAPD, AAPD, and EAPD protocols.
