Micro-Residency in Pediatric Dentistry: Pulp Therapy, Full-Coverage Restorations, Extractions, and Space Maintenance (Didactic + Hands-On)
This immersive full-day micro-residency provides comprehensive training across the core clinical domains of pediatric dentistry. Participants will progress through the complete continuum of pulp therapy for primary teeth and vital pulp therapy for permanent teeth, including:
- Indirect pulp treatment
- Pulpotomies
- Pulpectomies
Building on this foundation, the workshop transitions into restorative dentistry. Attendees will place prep and fit crowns while learning reliable cementation techniques for long-term success, including:
- Stainless steel crowns
- Zirconia crowns
Before beginning appliance therapy, participants will review essential principles of pediatric oral surgery. The course then advances into space maintenance with guided, detailed instruction in fixed unilateral chairside space maintainers, including precision adjustments to achieve an ideal, stable fit.
All techniques are taught with an emphasis on real-world implementation. Participants will leave prepared to bring these skills directly into practice on Monday morning, whether working with conventional behavior guidance (with or without nitrous oxide), oral conscious sedation, or general anesthesia. Treatment planning and sequencing strategies will be clearly outlined to ensure predictable, positive, and efficient clinical outcomes.
