HANDS-ON: ANKYLOGLOSSIA IN BABIES (0-3 YEARS): INDICATIONS AND SURGICAL TECHNIQUE
Register!
The tongue is an organ that participates in oral functions (sucking, swallowing, chewing, breathing and speaking), and these oral functions develop during the first years of life and are responsible for craniofacial growth and development, biogenesis of deciduous dentition, nutrition, communication, etc.
In this hands-on we will discuss the anatomical variability of ankyloglossia, transdisciplinary diagnosis, how to make a transdisciplinary decision for the surgical or non-surgical approach, and we will differentiate the surgical techniques like frenotomy and frenectomy for its clinical resolution.
What sets this workshop apart is the opportunity to practice and perfect the correct surgical technique on a pork mandible and tongue. This practical session ensures that participants will gain a deep understanding of the procedure and develop the confidence to apply the knowledge accurately in clinical practice.
