Diode lasers use heat to make the incision, many raise tissue temperature excessively, causing patient discomfort. The 940nm wavelength, exclusive to Epic soft tissue laser systems, is better absorbed by hemoglobin and oxyhemoglobin than other wavelengths.
Epic Q cuts faster at low power with less heat for greater patient comfort.

The Epic Q soft tissue laser has one of the shortest pulses compared to any other diode laser on the market. The Epic Q laser achieves a cleaner incision with minimal discomfort through its proprietary ComfortPulse™ modulated pulses. The Epic Q laser contributes to the comfort of patients by significantly reducing the incision time, at the same time reducing the sensitivity of the heat accumulation data of the incision site.
With this unique combination of features (wavelength and pulse modulated) you can perform most soft tissue procedures using only topical anesthetic.
